All for nothing?

We worked really late last night because we are planning of having a garage sale today. We started our day early (which I hate because I have to wake up early but hey when it comes to business we have to do what we don't like to do) to set it all up. The weather seems to be fine so we have everything set and 2 hours later here comes a shower. So we have to cover it all up. Then thirty minutes later we have to uncover the whole thing since the sun shows up. Then a little bit later it started to shower again. Is it got to do with the crazy weather in Florida or the two storms in the Caribbean right now. No matter what it is, it just made the effort worthless. What a day!

In a business world it is not easy money all the time. We have to deal with the high and the low. Not all month is profitable and not all month is slow either. It is like the backbone of our retail store, without the online deals our store is nothing. Why me?

The today is the actual auction that ray and I was going to go for viewing yesterday. I wanted to go so bad but I can't I need to be at the store since we just fired the employee that used to work for Saturdays (he is not working for us). He is actually a good employee yet he got other stuff going on. He got his own website that actually take in people that needs computer service just like what we do and we actually recommend our customer to him but when it comes to the store on Saturdays, we need someone that can be there all the the time because that's one of our main reason to hire someone to be there when we are not. We always like to take off on the weekends and having someone that will not give us 5 hour notice that he can't come in is not feasible. it is impossible to find someone to replace him for just a day! So now I can't go to the auction even though I want to go o bad and I am here stuck at the store because ray want some of the items they are auctioning off. I just hope he won't go crazy bidding so high because sometimes he just keep bidding it up and he forgot he is way too high! I'll just cross my fingers on that!

Training for a New Employee

It's been almost 2 months now we are in the mode of trial and error for the right employee. It's actually just for the eBay listing for our Collector's Stamp Covers. It supposed to be my job but when you are talking about putting on six thousand covers, I am like uh uh, it's too much. I have been working hard enough and I have lost track of my other important stuff to do. I have trained three already, First was a disaster, she made a lot of mistake and I talked Ray to fire her because I just don't like her talking in the phone while she was on training. The second guy was kinda okay yet he made mistakes but he has to leave for another job anyway so we don't have to fire him. The third one was great but he can only work part time and it has to be at home and we can always work around it but the only problem with him is the communication. He didn't leave his phone number and he doesn't check his emails and communication is a big PART in anything we do! Now I am training another guy. He actually been working for us for few weeks now but he never do the inputing of stamp covers that's why I have to train him. I guess at the end of the day we'll find out if he's going to work out for that job or he'll be back to his original assignment.
