Sports In our Lives

Sports is always been a big part of every country. No matter what kind of sport it is, it always bring people a lot closer and sometimes a part because of the teams yet after the game we are all belong to one country and one game. Here in America one if not the biggest sport is football. At first I was like why this sport is so physical yet I gradually like it and even root for our own team here in Tampa. I have learn watching football because every Thanksgiving dinner a football game will always play in the background. My husband and I even went to a game and even brought our dad. I just love to be a part of a big sensation here in America which is sports where you see die-hard fans are always there to cheer up their favorite teams and even fight for them if they have to. To all fans out there I have a great website that I found called SportsVids where you can upload video that you took when you were in the game and share it to other fans too. Of course I want to share this great moment of my favorite football team Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they won the Superbowl Super Bowl XXXVII.

I never thought!

I am born as a sport lover particularly basketball. Now that football is huge here in the states I learned to like it and be a fan too. I grew up watching basketball and my dream came true when we went to see an NBA game in Orlando which was my favorite Detroit Pistons were playing. When I learned football my husband brought me to 2 games already and I am loving it. This year I never though I will be interested in baseball. I never understood the game until last month and when our Tampa bay rays is playing good. Now I am getting excited because I will be able to go to the game soon. I never thought I will be watching a baseball game live! So excited and I'm definite looking forward for the game day!

Tampa Bay Rays is on fire!

Last night we were watching the baseball game Tampa Bay Rays against the Cleveland Indians, Tampa Bay won the game and at the bottom of the 7th they Rays had 3 home runs to make their score to 8 and left the Indians at 4. Now that the Rays is at top of their division, considering that the Yankees and the Red Sox is in the division, we just hope that they will continue to be on top to stay for the playoffs. One heck of a game last night!

So long ... Phoenix Suns :(

I am so disappointed with today's Game 6 of the best of Seven Series between Phoenix Suns versus San Antonio Spurs. I am cheering for the Suns and tonight they lost 114-106 and booted out for good. Both teams got very physical in this series that led to 3 players suspension. I've been following the Suns but they better do a good job next year. I don't think I'll be as excited in the finals if my favorite teams Suns vs Pistons (now it's all in my dreams) won't be in it(obviously it's not going to happen now that the Suns is already out!!!). I won't spend too much of my time watching the western conference semifinals but definitely watch the eastern for the Detroit Pistons. Go Pistons Go!!! Basketball game is pretty unpredictable but I surely enjoyed watching it. Now that the Detroit Pistons is still in the league good luck for them. Hopefully they'll win again in the finals. Just hoping I can watch 1 of the Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat games next year, that would add some excitement and I would definitely save money and look forward for the game. Hmmmm just got disappointed and can't sleep right yet.

Basketball game Weekend in Orlando

I've been a fan of basketball since i was a little girl back home. I love watching basketball ever since because of my brother who is a basketball player in my high school. My father always brings me to my brother's game. Growing up with 4 brothers and the fact that I am the only girl and the youngest in the family, i grew up and learned most of my brother's ways. I am not a tomboy but I always wear shorts and ashamed to wear skirts but anyway everything changed when i stepped in college.
Last Saturday we had a chance to see one of my favorite basketball teams, The Detroit Pistons even though it's the Orlando Magic home court and I'm from
Florida so I should be cheering for the Magic but I didn't. I have known the Pistons more than the Magic. We managed to get a seat behind the Pistons bench not really not close because it's expensive to get seats right behind them even 113 row F seats 1 & 2 which what we had cost us somewhat more money but that's the only way we can see my fave team. I was cheering for the Pistons when most all of them was cheering for the Magic but I don't care as long as Ray and I was having our great time that we can cherish together. The Pistons won the series 4 - 0.

After the basketball game, we checked out the Church St Station in Downtown Orlando but it was kinda dead so we decided to go to Downtown Disney.

We saw a miniature golf on our way to Downtown Disney since it was still early we swing by to play 1 game of golf.

Change of Plans

The past week was kind of a crazy week. We already had a plan for the weekend but we had a family gathering for Diego’s first birthday so we have to change our plans. Instead of going to Sebatian Inlet Park. We always have the plan to go to the East coast beach every weekends. next time we'll go we will go fishing because i saw people fishing right in the beach and they're catching fish like crazy. I had the fishing rod with but i don't have the bait and hook. We even snorkel but it's not as clear as the keys. Sunday, we went there Friday. We decided to go to our favorite private club to dance and play pool. For me it is the best dancing place in town and so fun to go to. Since it wasn’t in our plan, we decided to go until midnight and come home to watch a movie in Dish Network’s PPV. I didn’t drink that much of my Mudslide (only have 1 bottle) but I felt like I was drunk, I always need air because when I dance it’s always with energy that’s why Ray just want to watch me dancing especially with other girls in the club (He just can’t cope up with my steps and he don’t have the rhythm..hehehehe). I can’t breathe even though I was standing in front of the fan they had beside the dance floor. So I told Ray to go home even then it was 12:30 in the morning so we didn’t watch the movie. We slept late and went to Diego’s party around 2 pm. The party supposedly at the Horizon Park but the weather was so unfriendly instead we continue the party to Diego’s grandfather’s house.I finally met Jose, the only Filipino in the family. I heard a lot about him whenwhen I got him. I also met his wife Maria and his daughter Malena. He’s been here since 1972 but we still talked using our language (Tagalog). We left at 5:30 pm and went home. Again the sleepy head went back to bed until 8:00 pm and I woke up for the NBA finals which were so aggravating because the Heat lost their first 2 games in the Mavericks. Good luck Miami Heat for the next 5 games.

Bowling

This week so far is a fruitful week. It's been busy at the store which pretty much what we wanted. I went to the Social Security Administration and applied for my social security number(i know i should have it a year ago). We went to the driver's license office this morning to get a book for the test and pretty soon i will be able to drive on my own. The only thing we can't do this week is the opening of my personal bank account since i need to have a social security number as a primary requirement so i guess got to wait for two weeks before we can do it.

Hmmm, it is a fun night tonight. We just got back from Pin Chaser and play bowling with Mom and Dick. Since Dick has a problem of his health so they just played 3 games. I definitely love it. Hell ya, i got 6 strikes for our whole 6 games. For me it is pretty good because i never played bowling ever since me and my papa played once in Digos City and that's it, we didn't played again and that was when i was only 12 years old. Of course my first ball went to the gutter(ewwwwwwww) and only scored 59 for the first game. I am getting better the next game at least i broke 128 the last game which i won because i believe that "Practice Makes Perfect".
Unfortunately, we have to work late tonight so we went back to the store and have our drinks to make us started.
I definitely wanna go back bowling for sure...

NBA All Star Game

Last night was the NBA All Star game. It was the East coast versus the West coast and of course Ray and I make a bet for ourselves. I am betting for the East Coast to win and he is for the West Coast. If i win he has to drive for me all the way to Oldsmar where the Filipino store is located and if he'll win he will pick a gurl for me to dance with in the club which we like to go out for dancing.
It was already at the half time when we got home from Daytona last and the West Coast was winning. Fortunately the East Coast tried their best on the 3rd quarter and was leading on the the 4th quarter and won the which means i won the bet too:) BASKETBALL was my only favorite before but now i am a fan of sports which is i think is FUN. Still going out dancing is not out at all. I love to go out dancing and dancing dancing and dancing. :)

DAYTONA 500 2006

I've never expected to be in the DAYTONA 500 yesterday. Actually we were thinking about it last week but we weren't sure, first of all it's expensive to get in, second it is tight on financial right now, third was we don't have our tickets yet.
Saturday night came and got to make up our minds. So had our plans that
PLAN A is the DAYTONA 500 and PLAN B is NASA - Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral. PLAN B only if we can't get tickets but when the time was ticking we are more determined to go to the race. With all the footage and commotions on TV and boy! we really wanna go that time. So we made the sign(needs 2 tickets) for our tickets and taped it to our back window so people will see it and beside we are 10 miles to Daytona Beach and it was bumper to bumper traffic on I-4 east. The sign worked out, somebody stop us on our way to Daytona just to sell their tickets, the first car who stopped us, he only had 1 tickets so sorry we can't use it, then the second one he got 2 but it's in the grand stand and we don't want to be in the grand stand so we kept going and hit Daytona Beach. Now find the place to park the car, we drove at Speedway International Blvd and we saw cars were park everywhere in the side of the road even though cops were everywhere too. Finally found our spot at the parking lot of Denny's Restaurant(not too bad). Went to McDonald's and somebody saw the sign that we had and told us he got a friend who got the tickets and it's in the Old Field Tower which what we want. We waited for him for awhile at McDonald but he didn't came back so we started walking towards the Speedway and we saw the guy on our way and finally got our tickets($$$/ea). The place was getting chilly and i was wearing a sleeveless(never thought it will be that cold, it was at 70's earlier of the week) and a skirt so have to find a jacket so we looked and got jackets for both of us. We got free tshirt on our way to the speedway which helped me alot because i wrap it on my legs. The race was awesome!!!The noise of the motors(the cars are really really loud especially when it came by on our place),the wrecks(which sometimes ran into the wall plus the smoke and the fire which was the result of the car hitting the other cars and rubbing the road) and the cheering crowd will really make you excited. We rented the car scanner which we can either listen to the drivers and it got a screen that we can always hit TV and we can see the cars if it's in the far side. What makes the difference too was we made a little bets in the Internet just to make us a little bit more excited and somebody to cheer on. I had Jeff Gordon(24), Mark Martin(6) and Dale Earnhardt Jr(8) and unfortunately they all lost and Ray had his own bets too and he won a little bit.
The bottom line was we enjoy the
DAYTONA 500 car race. Tell you the truth I WANNA GO BACK NEXT YEAR!!!! I really hope we can!!!! :)
