Hey have you heard about the contest about the Favorite Great American Seafood Recipe where every state in America can participate. Actually I just voted for my favorite dish where they have it at the main page of their website called www.greatamericanseafoodcookoff.com where you can keep track of the cook off contest. I voted "Pan Roasted Glazed Rockfish with Peas and Carrots" by Chef Tafari Campbell of Maryland.
I love peas, carrots and of course the Rockfish in it. Based on the picture it looks really good that I want to go to New Orleans so I can taste it myself and I am talking about the prize since I voted for the dish I have the chance to win a "Trip to New Orleans" prize package including two Southwest Airline round trip tickets, hotel accommodations, dining experiences and more! I can't only taste my favorite "Pan Roasted Glazed Rockfish with Peas and Carrots" I can also experience to be in New Orleans. I have been to New Orleans once just after Hurricane Katrina where it was devastated really bad. It's quite sometime since it happen and I would love to go back and see how it would be felt like. I know they are back to normal since they are having the contest and New Orleans knows how to make a party. I remember that it was fun to go over there even though they was hit by hurricane. They have this fun spirit in them. I just hope I will win the contest so I can go back. So if you want to expierience New Orleans you will have your chance too by just entering the contest and your vote will be you key. Good news is NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning. Open to all legal U.S. residents who have reached the age of majority in their state of residence at the time of entry. Online entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. CT on October 31, 2008. Winners will be announced mid-November, 2008. I guess I should say goodluck to all of us :)

Domestic Seafood Recipe
I was browsing online while I was on break and I found this website about the contest called Cook off which is the most prestigious culinary competitions, one chef and one state will walk away with the title of King of American Seafood. Governor Jindal issued the challenge for states to send us their best chef and most delicious domestic sustainable seafood. What interest me is Andre Bienvenu of the renowned Joe’s Stone Crab will be showcasing all that Florida is ‘cracked’ up to be. The whole show looks really exciting since each state can send their best chef to be in the show and Hopefully Florida will be the master Chef(right?) . It made me think of my home away from home since I have been wondering how to make my favorite seafood dish. It is really hard for me since I am not a kitchen junkie. I never had any interest in in cooking ever since I was a little girl. My mother always told me to learn how to cook and even my father tried to pass on his dish but I never learned it and I am always been the eater. I have missed his recipe with pasta and shrimp (I don't even know what he called it, all I remember is it was so good!) Now that I am far from my hometown and it will take me a day for a plane ride, it is impossible for me have that dish again unless somebody will give me any idea on how to make it .
